Hidden Door transforms unusual urban spaces into platforms for new and emerging artists, and our next festival, One Last Shift, will take place at The Paper Factory in Maybury, Edinburgh from 3rd–7th June 2026.
We’re looking for volunteers across a wide range of areas including:
- Arts management
- Marketing and communications
- Event production
- Planning and operations
- Venue build and creative installation support
- Front-of-house and festival delivery
Volunteering with Hidden Door gives students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the arts and events sector, build confidence, meet new people, and contribute to Edinburgh’s creative community.
We’d be incredibly grateful if your institution could help promote these opportunities to students. I’m more than happy to manually upload details to any volunteering portals, careers systems, newsletters, or student opportunity boards if you can let me know the process, or alternatively, if easier, your team may be able to share it directly on our behalf.
Some key information for students:
- Free festival tickets
- Discounts on tickets, merchandise, bars, and food
- Invitations to volunteer events and behind-the-scenes activities
- References available on request
- A welcoming and inclusive environment open to people from all backgrounds
We’re particularly keen to encourage applications from individuals who feel underrepresented in the arts sector, including disabled people, neurodivergent people, and those from diverse ethnic and cultural communities.
